Afropessimism and the Anxiety of Antagonism

In this lecture, Frank Wilderson offers reflections from his book, Afropessimism, in which he defines Afropessimism, the ways it has been misrepresented and how it can shape our understanding of contemporary justice.

Dr. Frank B. Wilderson III is an American writer, dramatist, filmmaker and critic. He is a full professor of drama and African American studies at the University of California, Irvine. In addition to Afropessimism, Wilderson is also the author of Red, White, and Black and Incognegro, all of which are available for purchase at the PAGES online bookshop.
